Research on Sharkstopper Shark RepellentIn 2004, Sharkstopper used their patented acoustic technology to repel Spiny Dogfish Sharks. The testing was conducted at the Seattle Aquarium under the supervision of Dr. Shawn Larson.

Spiny Dogfish Sharks are a huge nuisance to commercial fishermen. These Sharks are drastically cutting into the commercial fishing industries catch. The Spiny Dogfish are ferociously eating Cod, Herring and Haddock. These fish are economically valuable to this industry.

Sharkstopper plans to release a Shark repellent for the commercial fishing industry in the near future. Presently, there is not a company worldwide that can repel Sharks and preserve a fishermen’s catch consistently. Sharkstopper will fill this void and capture a large market share of this industry

The next stop for the Sharkstopper research team was, Bimini, Bahamas. The types of sharks successfully repelled were, Lemon, Caribbean Reef, Nurse and Thresher Sharks.

September 2006 brought the Sharkstopper team with the assistance of the crew of “Shark Diver” to the Isla de Guadalupe. At this magnificent site 250 miles southwest of San Diego, California, Great White Sharks circle the Island during the fall months. This is a great site for testing because of the clarity of the water. On a clear day you could see for a depth upwards of 100 feet. To demonstrate the effectiveness of Sharkstopper’s repellent technology, the research team attached a big bloody tuna to the speaker that emitted the repellent sound. The tuna’s stayed intact for the duration of testing. Very few things can stop a Great White, so Sharkstopper was pleased with the results.

Sharkstopper Team researching Shark RepellentHawaii was the next stop for research. Testing was conducted on Hammerheads and Tiger Sharks. The Tiger and Hammerhead were repelled.

June 2009 brought Sharkstopper to Florida. The testing area about 5 miles off Jupiter inlet is home to the most aggressive species of Sharks such as, Bull, Hammerhead, Tiger, Black tip and many more. Sharkstopper was able to keep repelling these sharks over and over again.

Sharkstopper conducted all its testing under extreme conditions. The areas being tested were always heavily baited. The Sharkstopper team was aggressively trying to lure the sharks to the baited area. Once the Sharks reached the area, the patented sound was turned on.

Sharkstopper soon will be the standard in Shark repelling worldwide.
